Greensboro Builders Association – represents more than 275 licensed general contractors and more than 525 Associate members who represent suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers for the building industry.

North Carolina Home Builders Association – represents more than 17,000 building related members in North Carolina through 70 local associations.

National Association of Home Builders - a federation of more than 800 state and local builder associations representing more than 235,000 members throughout the United States – sponsors of the annual International Builders Show – the largest trade show and educational forum for the building industry - As “the voice of America’s housing industry,” NAHB helps promote policies that will keep housing a national priority.

Builder
Builder members are required to have an active NC Contractor License.
GBA builder members include residential builders, remodelers, commercial builders and developers.

Associate
Associate members provide products or services for the building industry.

Affiliate
Affiliate members are employees of Builder and Associate members.

Builder Member – based on permits or plats recorded per year within Guilford County

An application for membership, along with membership dues payment, must be submitted to the Greensboro Builders Association Board of Directors for approval. Dues remittance represents annual membership investment in the Greensboro Builders Association. With payment, members acknowledge that a portion of their dues investment covers membership in the North Carolina Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. Members agree to abide by the Constitution, Bylaws and Code of Ethics of all three organizations.

Dues payments to GBA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However dues payments may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses, subject to an exclusion for lobbying activity. A portion of membership dues, in 2008 that amount is 31.80, is projected to be used for lobbying by NCHBA and NAHB and is not deductible.

Note: Companies can not join NAHB or NCHBA directly…they must join through a local association such as the Greensboro Builders Association.
