Community Service Builders Give Back to Community Raising Roofs …Builders for Habitat GBA Members Making a Difference

They said it couldn’t be done…build a house in a week! However, the Greensboro Builders Association in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro has done just that…we have actually now constructed 32 new energy-efficient homes over the past four years during one week builds with Habitat Greensboro in Stonegate Crossing development.

Members of the Greensboro Builders Association have always been committed to community service and our Raising Roofs project is just one more example of that commitment. We are extremely proud of our members who joined together to repair and build energy-efficient, affordable homes for hard working, deserving families in our community.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro

Habitat Greensboro was founded in 1987 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Since then, Habitat has built 300+ houses in Greensboro by parterning with hardworking families, sponsors, and volunteers of all backgrounds to build simple, decent homes.

Habitat Greensboro's ability to create successful partnerships has made it the 16th largest affiliate in the nation. "We have a generous community of individuals and corporations in Greensboro who understand that there's a tremendous need for decent, affordable workforce housing," says Winston McGregor, Habitat Greensboro's Executive Director, "The beauty is that Habitat makes it possible for them to come together and do something about it."

Raising Roofs...Builders for Habitat has been one of those partenrships that conotinues to grow and flourish making home ownership a reality for hard working families in our community.
