Volunteer Opportunities

Our committees are the backbone of the Greater Greensboro Builders Association and are extremely important to the accomplishments and success of our Association. Please take a few minutes to review the various Councils and Committees and choose one or more committees in which to get involved.

Builder Services
  Builders Council: Provides educational programs, information sharing and networking opportunities for builders. Quarterly meetings are held with building officials from Greensboro and Guilford County. Meets at various times.
  Remodelers Council: Provides information and educational opportunities pertaining to the remodeling field. Conducts annual Tour of Remodeled Homes, Golden Hammer Awards, and community service projects. (Individual member dues are $75.00 annually - affiliated with NAHB Remodelors Council.) Meets the last Thursday of every month from 11:30am – 1:00pm.
  Sales & Marketing Council: Provides forum for members to exchange ideas with local, regional and national experts in the new home sales and marketing field. Conducts educational programs – CSP courses and quarterly sales awards program along with New Homes Fair. (Individual member dues are $75.00 annually – affiliated with NAHB Sales & Marketing Council). Meets at various times.
  Parade of Homes: Plans and implements scattered site new home show. An annual opportunity for builders to market new construction and to inform consumers of new housing products and ideas. Meets the second Thursday of every month from 9:00am – 10:00am.

Community Service
  Housing Foundation: Goal is to help families achieve home ownership. Coordinates plan design and builder selection for construction or rehabilitation of homes sponsored by the Housing Foundation. Meets the second Wednesday of every month from 11:00am – 12:30pm.
  Raising Roofs…Builders for Habitat: Coordinates partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro. Meetings are scheduled as needed.

Government Affairs
  TREBIC: Focuses on monitoring issues that relate to the Guilford County building industry. Serves as forum for education and policy discussion. Task forces are formed on an as-needed basis to address emerging, local issues. Interested members should contact GGBA office for more information.
  Build PAC: Political Action Committee raises funds to support campaigns of elected officials. Meetings are scheduled as needed.

Member Service
  Membership Team: Coordinates recruitment and retention efforts. Conducts annual membership campaign. Conducts monthly membership retention calls. Conduct annual evaluation of member benefits and services. Meets the second Tuesday of every month from 11:45am – 1:00pm – lunch provided.
  Special Events: Develops and plans special membership events for the Association including Table Top Nights; Seminars & Workshops; and the annual Southern Ideal Home Show Preview Night. Meets the third Thursday of every month from 9:00am – 10:00am.
  Golf: Plans and promotes annual Spring and Fall Golf Tournaments. Meets the third Thursday of every month from 4:00pm – 5:00pm.

Administrative
  Budget & Finance: Prepares annual Association budget and reviews quarterly financial statements. Meets quarterly.
  Building and Grounds: Oversees Association property maintenance and repairs. Meets as needed.
