DESCRIPTION:Skilled Trades Scholarships & Training Grants\nWorkforce development scholarships and training grants will be awarded to community college or technical school students seeking a career in a construction related skilled trade.  Application Deadline for the fall semester is May 30. \nScholarships are being awarded to students entering a program considered to be a skilled trade in the construction industry including but not limited to carpentry\, HVAC\, plumbing\, electrical\, masonry\, etc. \nScholarships and training grants will be considered on the recommendation of an advisor/teacher and on the applicant’s future plans in the construction industry as determined by the answers on the scholarship application. \nClick HERE to find additional information\, including application and advisor form. \n

DESCRIPTION:The NC Home Builders Association will hold its 2nd Quarter Meetings & Legislative Reception on Tuesday\, May 6 in Raleigh. \nQuarterly committee and Board meetings will be held at Builders First Center from 8 am – 4:00 pm...along with a Legislative Briefing on key issues. \nThe annual Legislative Reception provides an opportunity to network with members of the NC General Assembly\, Council of State\, and other NC government officials. It will be held from 5-7 pm at Merrimon-Wynne House. Registration is required. \nOn Wednesday morning\, May 7 members from across the state will gather at the General Assembly to meet with lawmakers and advocate for legislative priorities focused on creating additional housing and jobs in our state. \nA block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard by Marriott Raleigh Cary Crossroads. \nClick here for additional information and to register. \n  \n
