DESCRIPTION:Skilled Trades Scholarships & Training Grants\nWorkforce development scholarships and training grants will be awarded to community college or technical school students seeking a career in a construction related skilled trade.  Application Deadline for the fall semester is May 30. \nScholarships are being awarded to students entering a program considered to be a skilled trade in the construction industry including but not limited to carpentry\, HVAC\, plumbing\, electrical\, masonry\, etc. \nScholarships and training grants will be considered on the recommendation of an advisor/teacher and on the applicant’s future plans in the construction industry as determined by the answers on the scholarship application. \nClick HERE to find additional information\, including application and advisor form. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) invites you to join us on Wednesday\, May 21 from 9:00-10:30 am for a Guilford County Housing Needs Assessment update. Loren Hill\, Carolina Core Regional Economic Director\, will share updates on the recent Bowen Group’s Housing Needs Assessment Study. His presentation will focus on Guilford and surrounding counties. We will also discuss upcoming PWB plans for the summer along with community engagement opportunities. \nLight breakfast and coffee will be provided…sponsored by Builders Concierge.  \nThis event is open to PWB members and invited guests…as well as any GBA members that would like to attend. There is no charge to attend…however registration is required by May 16 as seating is limited.
