SUMMARY:Builders: Don't Forget to Apply for Tax Exclusion
DESCRIPTION:If you are holding in inventory for sale a single-family home\, a townhouse\, a duplex or land which you have improved for residential or commercial purposes\, you are eligible to have the value of these improvements exempted from local property taxes. This exclusion\, which can last up to three years if the house or land continues to be held for sale\, also applies to single-family and duplex houses under construction or land currently being developed. \nNCHBA successfully amended this law in 2021 to specifically include townhouses in this exemption. DESCRIPTION:Earn the national Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation virtually.  There are three specific CAPS courses required. \n\nCAPS I:  Marketing & Communications Strategies for Aging and Accessibility\nCAPS II:  Design/Build Solutions for Aging and Accessibility\nCAPS III:  Details & Solutions for Livable Homes and Aging in Place\n\nThe CAPS designation focuses on the technical\, business management and custom service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segments of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place. \nCourses are scheduled for August 17-19 and do not have to be taken together. You can register for 1-3 courses. Once all three courses have been successfully completed\, you will earn the national CAPS designation. \nInstructor:  Steve Monroe \nSubmit registration ONE WEEK prior to the class.  \n\nCAPS Registration August 2022\n\nThe courses will be offered via Zoom. You will need to have a computer with internet access.
