DESCRIPTION:Our postponed spring golf tournament is now a summer tournament! We look forward to getting together at Bryan Park on Thursday\, August 6. DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION IS CLOSED for our July 23 continuing education classes for general contractors. Please visit our CE page for additional classes being offered August – November. \nMORNING SESSION:  8:00 am – 12:15 pm  \n2020 NCLBGC Mandatory CE Course  ( 2 hours )   \nThe NC Licensing Board for General Contractor’s 2020 mandatory course explains the statutes and regulations in which qualifiers and licensees must comply. Students will review current law\, regulations\, rules and statutory terminology used by the NCLBGC. Students will also participate in a practical exercise in the application of knowledge they learned and understood during the class. This course satisfies the two-hour mandatory course requirement for 2020. \nNC Residential Energy Code Chapter 11 Changes  ( 2 hours )   \nParticipants will gain a working knowledge of the 2018 North Carolina Residential Energy Code Chapter 11 changes. The session will cover the changes in the printed volume of the Residential Code Chapter 11 as well as changes to the Energy code provisions adopted by the NC Building Code Council. \nAFTERNOON SESSION:  1:30 – 5:30 pm  \nBuilding Codes  ( 4 hours )    \nBuilders and remodelers need to execute projects that comply with relevant codes and standards. This course explains why regulations are written\, which agencies write them and how to deal with the representatives of those agencies. Topics include state and local building departments\, plan review\, permits\, inspections\, code enforcement and the appeals process. DESCRIPTION:Submit Commitment Form by July 17  \nDue to the pandemic\, our 23rd annual Tour of Remodeled Homes will be a virtual tour this year. Many homeowners are hesitant to open their homes but are willing to allow remodelers to showcase the renovation via a virtual tour.  It is important as an industry to promote and showcase the value and benefits of working with professional remodelers. \nRegarding TOUR entries…there is no time frame or requirement on when the project was completed. For current projects\, it needs to be finalized by July 31 to schedule the virtual tour. \nWe will produce a marketing campaign in early September promoting the Virtual TOUR and our participating remodelers…which will include a digital magazine\, TV commercials and social media sponsored ads and posts. DESCRIPTION:All High Point Council seats are up for reelection this year and for the first time in quite a while there will be 4-year terms\, which are now unstaggered.
