Gerald “Jerry” Cowan, a longtime and dedicated member of the Greensboro Builders Association passed away July 29 after battling declining health for many months. Across NAHB and NCHBA, Jerry was heralded as someone who was always ready to help, never afraid to reach for a goal, and blessed with a tirelessly encouraging spirit. He traveled and mentored colleagues across the Carolinas, promoting the value of HBA membership and encouraging others to get involved.
Jerry was recognized by the Greensboro Builders Association in 2013 with the Eugene Gulledge Award, the highest honor bestowed by our Association. Jerry had recently retired from Builders Mutual Insurance, but continued working hard for the Federation and the housing industry. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Below is video produced by NAHB to honor his legacy.
