Builders: Don’t Forget Tax Exclusion on Homes or Land Held for Sale
Builders holding for sale a single-family home, townhome, duplex, or land that has been improved for residential or commercial purposes may be eligible for a local property tax exclusion on the value of these improvements. The exclusion can apply for up to three years and includes properties under construction or in development.
For qualifying property newly improved, an application is due by January 31 in the tax office where the property is located.
