GREENSBORO, NC (June 1, 2026) – The City of Greensboro seeks proposals from qualified architecture and design firms/teams to establish a permit-ready housing plan program. A Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued online today, Monday, June 1.
Funded through the federal American Rescue Plan Act, the program aims to accelerate the construction of a variety of housing types that reflects our community character and fosters local partnerships throughout the City. The initiative will create a catalog of permit-ready housing plans in compliance with the City’s Land Development Ordinance and the North Carolina State Building Code, resulting in a faster and easier permitting process for builders.
An optional virtual pre-submittal conference is scheduled for 11 am on Monday, June 8. The written question-and-answer period extends to 5 pm on Monday, June 29. Visit www.greensboro-nc.gov/HNDRFPs for full details.
Responses must be submitted electronically in PDF format to Christopher Andrews, Christopher.Andrews@greensboro-nc.gov, and Samuel Hunter, Samuel.Hunter@greensboro-nc.gov, by 5 pm on Monday, July 6. The City and selected applicant will work together to determine the most effective approach for licensing, ownership, and the administration of the building plans and overall program.
For questions or inquiries, contact Christopher Andrews and Samuel Hunter.
